Setting the standards in superior energy efficiency, Keystone's high efficiency T8 ballasts earned the prestigious NEMA Premium designation by exceeding the standards set forth by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE). By saving over 5% in energy over standard T8 lamp and ballast combinations, our NEMA Premium T8 ballasts automatically qualify for rebates and incentives through utilities, municipalities, and government programs. They are an excellent source to help meet green or sustainable lighting objectives and for achieving LEED, ASHRAE, or other energy certifications.

Our NEMA Premium T8 series is available in Instant Start, for maximum energy efficiency and Program Start for use with motion and occupancy sensors. They can be used with standard 32W 4 foot lamps as well as the new 28W and 25W 4 foot T8 lamps. See the chart below for specifications.
The key requirements of NEMA Premium are as follows:
• Ballast Frequency must be ≥40kHz or ≥20kHz and ≤33kHz.
• Power Factor must be ≥0.90.
• Total Harmonic Distortion must be ≤20%.
